Sam (2004-2019)

Sam was the sweetest soul, a best friend to every person and animal he met. He loved a good game of fetch, but his true passion in life was rocks, the bigger the better. Whether he was romping through the snow, diving into the pond on a rock hunting mission, basking in the sunshine, or curled up beside his family, Sam was simply the best boy anyone could have ever asked for.

He was the devoted shadow of our youngest son, following him everywhere. Wherever our son went, Sam was never far behind. He found joy in the simplest moments as long as he was with his people. Thunderstorms, however, were his one great enemy, and he would stay close, looking for comfort until the skies cleared.

He is missed every single day. Our home is quieter without the sound of his paws, but his love, his silliness, and his big rock collecting heart will always be a part of our family.

Bentley (2014-2025)

Bentley, aka Mr. B, was an absolute legend! We adopted him from ARLNH in 2021 when he was 7. Mr. B was epic in every way, an ARLNH Ambassador, my loyal sidekick, always up for a road trip to North Carolina, and he ate pretty much everything a dog should not eat whether it was edible or not. We were so lucky to have him in our lives for so long.

Daisy (2019-2026)

Bull Mastiff Mix

Daisy was truly one of a kind. She loved nothing more than snuggling on the couch with a favorite toy and a good show, especially during the cozy winter months. When the weather warmed, she was an adventurer at heart, exploring the woods and soaking up the sun on the deck. She always kept life interesting, whether it was getting porcupine quills removed, chasing bears out of the yard, having surgery to remove cat toys, or simply being a lovable drama queen, but she was a queen nonetheless. Her Golden Doodle brother Louie was her constant companion, playmate, and deer-chasing partner. Still, her favorite human was undoubtedly our mother, with whom she never hesitated to snuggle on the couch. From the moment we brought Daisy home, she filled a space in our hearts we did not even know was empty. We will forever miss her warmth, her snuggles, and yes, even her snores, but we were so fortunate to have shared our lives with her.
