The Animal Rescue League of NH is seeking a full-time collaborative leader with a passion for animal welfare to oversee its Bedford and Conway locations. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing all organizational activities at both locations as directed by the Board of Directors and is expected to make decisions as appropriate to ensure the implementation of the strategic vision as approved by the Board. The President & CEO will oversee fund raising strategies, fund development plans and marketing strategies so that adequate funding for both shelters is assured. Additionally, successful applicant shall develop and implement budgets, policies, procedures and strategies to deliver responsible animal care and effective, courteous animal services to the North and South communities. Evaluation and management of staff competencies and performance is an important component of this position, and the successful applicant should be knowledgeable and comfortable with HR issues, rules and regulations. Effective communication is key in this position, both internally with staff and Board of Directors, as well as externally. Successful applicant will promote the organization to the public and serve as facility spokesperson in the communities and statewide. Experience and expertise in integration, collaboration and transition management regarding multiple locations is critically important. This position is supported by a Chief Operating Officer and a Chief Development Officer.

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in organizational change/transition management.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience including understanding of principles of human resource management and relevant labor laws and regulations. Skill in mediating disputes, conflicts and grievances. Ability to establish and maintain a respected leadership role. Ability to effectively delegate authority while retaining control. Ability to effectively make decisions.
- Program management knowledge to include knowledge of business management practices, basic statistical methods, knowledge of contract negotiations and fund raising techniques. Skill in strategic planning.
- Budgeting and financial knowledge to include basic investment procedures, fiscal and budgetary practices and basic accounting procedures & financial statement management.
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills to include building alliances among staff from both locations, with community organizations and agencies and establishing and maintaining relationships with patrons, foundations and local businesses. Excellent written and oral communications and public speaking skills.
- Significant and demonstrated donor development expertise.
- Must be computer savvy with experience in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint software required. Experience with data base management, Raiser's Edge and Quickbooks preferred. Knowledge of social media strategy a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly between Bedford and Conway with overnight stays required.

The Animal Rescue League of NH is seeking a full-time collaborative leader with a passion for animal welfare to serve as Chief Development Officer for its Bedford and Conway locations. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Development Officer (CDO) serves as a key leadership team member and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting the ARLNH. In partnership with the CEO, this position is responsible for all fundraising and development activities for the ARLNH and its affiliates. The CDO will help forge new relationships to build ARLNH and its affiliates' visibility, impact, and financial resources. The CDO will expand and diversify ARLNH and its affiliates' donor base/pipeline and work closely with other staff to secure funding for new initiatives. In addition, the CDO will work closely with the Board of Directors and support board members as they take on a more active fundraising role. It is expected that the amount raised by the ARLNH and its affiliates will increase in future years as the CDO systematically and effectively strengthens the organization's overall fundraising capacity. In addition, the CDO must have a strong and collaborative partnership with the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Communications and the Events Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive plan for securing the budgeted fundraising revenue through the solicitation of major gifts, federal and state grants, special events and corporate and foundation support for ARL and its affiliates.
- Donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship in all ARL locations.
- Supervision of all development personnel in Bedford and at affiliate locations.
- Oversight and management of Leadership Giving Program and other donor giving opportunities and programs for all locations.
- Oversight and management of grant program for Bedford and Conway.
- Plans and coordinates intimate recognition events to promote interest in the League and to motivate donors to make the League their organization of choice for major gifts for ARL and its affiliates.
- Oversees the creation of donor materials for ARL and its affiliates.
- Fosters and contributes to a culture of philanthropy within ARLNH and its affiliates, seeking ways to continually boost effectiveness and impact.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the job or equivalent experience.
- Must have 3 - 5 years of experience in non-profit development work.
- Has a strong personal/professional network in the Greater Manchester area.
- Is computer literate, proficient with Razor's Edge and Microsoft Office software with excellent writing and communication skills.
- Must have knowledge of fundraising management techniques and the ability to assess and discuss programs quantitatively.
- Has an outgoing and positive demeanor coupled with a passion for animals as well as the cause and mission of the ARLNH.
- Must be highly motivated and results-driven with demonstrated sales capability.

The Animal Rescue League of NH is seeking a full-time Director of Marketing, Communication & Events with a passion for animal welfare to be responsible for managing these key areas for ARLNH. Marketing and communication collateral will be developed to ensure that messaging and branding are consistent, clear, and mission focused. This position will also ensure that collateral generated from affiliated organizations (ARL North) is consistent with the overall messaging and branding of ARL.
In addition, this position is responsible for developing and coordinating fundraising through special events in order to maximize sources of financial support for the organization that meet budget and strategic plan objectives. This position manages and improves key fundraising events.
The Director of Marketing, Communication & Events (DCME) works closely with the CEO, CDO, COO, Board of Directors and ARL's public relations firm. In addition, the role must have a strong and collaborative partnership with ARL North's Director of Development in regards to events and communications.
The DMCE reports to the Chief Development Officer and must have a positive working relationship with all shelter staff, volunteers and Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with public relations firm to develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance the brand identity of the Affiliation, broaden awareness of its programs and priorities and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences.
- Create marketing/public relations strategy that will allow ARLNH leadership to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including the media and key influencers.
- Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization. Work with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.
- Create collateral for ARL-NH to include annual report, newsletters, Constant Contact email newsletter, program brochures, etc.
- Oversee and manage social media ensuring consistent and new information is posted regularly.
- Coordinate media contacts to include press releases that provide continual communication and opportunities with the press to identify the League as a leader in the animal welfare field.
- Assist CEO in managing sensitive and/or controversial communication issues.
- Work with videographer to present the "For Pet's Sake" Community TV show and create and send out one show each month.
- Market all fundraising events both internally and externally.
- Develops recommendations for annual calendar of events and projected budget/revenue from events.
- Provides oversight and implementation of all League on-site and off-site fund raising events.
- Creates and adheres to project budgets and timelines for special events. Tracks and collects funds raised for special events. Monitors progress of registration, ticket sales and income goals and adjust plans as appropriate or as required for the financial health of the League.
- Manages special committees for events, including developing goals and objectives for committees, facilitating meetings and leading those committees towards successfully completing the established goals and objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
Education
- Minimum of an Associates Degree, preferably in communications, journalism or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of three years experience working in a non-profit organization.
- Minimum of three years of experience in planning, writing, editing, and production of newsletters, press releases, annual reports, marketing literature, and other print publications and directories.
- Minimum of three years experience coordinating and managing small and large public events.

The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire - North, located in beautiful Conway, NH is seeking a motivated team player to serve as Staff Veterinarian. Position is 10 hours per week and does not include benefits. Hourly wage is $35-$40 per hour and commensurate with experience. The ideal candidate would have at least five years experience in veterinary medicine and must have a license to practice in the state of NH or be willing to obtain one; shelter medicine experience is recommended.
The Staff Veterinarian will assist with developing medical protocols for the shelter population, perform surgeries and diagnose conditions on a limited budget. The Staff Veterinarian will also be responsible for training staff on safe animal restraint and basic medical procedures.
